The ski resort and the village of Chamrousse, located near Grenoble and only 2 hours from Lyon in the Belledonne massif, gives the opportunity to make beautiful mountain bird watching.

Most of the typical alpine species are present: spotted nutcracker thanks to the cembros pine forest, citril finches in the streets in spring, water pipits and black grouse on the mountain pastures, coal and willow tits, pygmy owls in the coniferous forests . Snow bunting and alpine accentors even come to the balcony asking for seeds in winter.

Several biotopes intersect here: heathland, mixed and coniferous forest, cembraie, peat bog, cliffs, scree... The Arselle peat bog and Lake Achard are classified as a Sensitive Natural Area of Isère.

Access to the station is easy, also possible by public transport, the road, wide and cleared of snow all winter up to 1800 meters. The gondola open in winter and summer gives everyone the possibility of climbing to 2250 meters.
